the police do not have flashing head lights they just look like they do,they have strobes which are small little bulbs installed next to there headlights, you can buy some at auto zone or napa, they are like 20 bucks,if you want something really cool look around on the internet for something called a strobe light box, with this you can cut your headlight wires and hook up the box to your wires, its fairly simple, just to let you know that using any kind of lights that flash like police should be used off of roadways and you could be punished for impersonating a police officer if not used responsibly. GOOD LUCK!!!!

The police vehicles have a seperate lighting control module installed, and operates independantly of the regular headlamp system. As stated before these vehicles use a "wig-wag" relay to control the lamps when activated. Use of this other than law-enforcement will probably cause you to be beaten with clubs, handcuffed, and placed under the jail. It is not advisable. Impersonating a law enforcement officer is a serious crime.

Prior to spending money to look "cool" like a cop, I strongly suggest you contact the local PD and see what the law says regarding emergency lights on non-emergency civilian cars. I believe they will tell you that it is illegal to have and operate such w/o proper authority meaning you are not a cop, government entity like fireman or licensed emergency vehicle operator.

You can't. This is referred to as "wig wag" and, here in VA. assuming you could even buy the system without proving that you were installing it on an emergency vehicle, operating it on a non-emergency vehicle would cost you big $$$ in fines and, you'd still have to remove it.
