it's actually by buffalo springfield who stephen stills was a member of. the song is called "for what it's worth".

"For What it's Worth"

It WAS written by Stephen Stills, but it was recorded by the band he was in at the time, Buffalo Springfield. The song was released in December 1966.

BTW, even tho this was their biggest hit by far, I much prefer at least TWO other songs they did: "Bluebird", also written by Stills, and especially, "On the Way Home" which was written by fellow band member, Neil Young - my all-time favorite of HIS, I might add!!!
