We would all be skinnier and smarter and our children wouldn't be dancing in front of the television to get attention.

I hate to say it as I love TV -my sports shows like PTI and Around the Horn, some reality shows and Law and Orders- but without TV we'd be a more refined culture. Although there's quality and informative content on TV, there alot of crap out there too that the masses just eat up.

What people used to do. Sit down together for meals, watch children playing outdoors, visit our neighbors, read a newspaper for the information we needed, and, since you didn't say no radio, listen to the programming on radio. Things must have been a lot more simple back then.

In the "olden days" prior to t.v., many listened to radio programs. Others read books (Oh, my God- READING!!!!).
Many sat around after dinner and talked (for goodness sake- actual conversations!). When the weather was good, many walked around their neighborhoods and visited with their neighbors!
Some were active in sports leagues like bowling, basketball, etc.
Women were involved in "study clubs" and "book clubs"
Both parents took active interest in the schools their children attended.
Since you have noooooo idea, you must not have much of an imagination- all destroyed by television. Too bad!

I don't watch a lot of television. I watch a couple of movies a week, and one or two shows, but I could live without them.
Besides- I'd rather be out there having fun and living life!!!
I love water sports!!!

The internet is much more interactive and you can get the news, chat with friends, research and learn as well as get information on television programs if that's your thing.

We'd probably read more and not be as ignorant of the rest of the world. TV only gives us sound bites, not much information, really.

get acquainted with our family... find out how dad's day at work was...what is on moms mind.. what the kids are up to... ..read a great book....play family games... that are not electronic... but require close contact... checkers.. chess.. cards. write letters..poetry... and short stories. brush up on our drawing and painting skills. learn to knit..sew... cook... get outside and play sports... take walks.. ride bikes. get into lawn and garden work.. planting flowers,,trees..bushes.. go fishing. redecorate our rooms... and the list goes on and on.

Well what did they do before Television, we would probably read more, exersise more, be in better shape, probably study more, socialize more, and maybe even travel more.
