Actually, its first season it started at 8:30pm sandwiched in between Mad About You and Seinfeld, and it wan't until season 2 did they make its now familiar leap to 8:00pm

It has always been on at 8 in my time zone, but I'm sure in some places it did air at 9.

the only time i ever remember it coming on was 8eastern/7 central
