We exchange names each year and I ended up with my 17 year old nephew. The rule is we have to make something, sort of a giving of self, gift from the heart, home made, like that. Need ideas so I can get started. I am fairly well rounded so any ideas will be useful.

That's a neat idea!

I'd say food. With a teenage boy you can't go wrong. How about fudge. Or each Christmas I make chocolate covered pretzels and oreos. They are a big hit too. make him a basket of goodies-put nuts, pretzels, m&m's etc in separate tie bags with a Christmas theme and either put them on a tray or a basket.

A memory album of anything that would share the fun times that were spent together with you or other members of the family. Photos, wrappers from favorite snack, reminders of some silly things that happened, photo copies of CD covers of favorite music, Write a poem or story saying from your heart what your nephew means to you and how he inspired or effected your life in some positive way

If he's going to be going to graduate from high school next year, make him something for his dorm room or apartment - a comforter; a laundry bag; a laundry basket full of detergent, etc.; a bucket of personal care items; a covered photo album (so he can remember his family); if he's going to be living in an apartment get some kitchen items and put them in a basket of some sort. Or, if he's staying nearby, give him a coupon book with coupons good for: a free load of wash, a home-cooked meal, one clean bathroom, etc.

Depending on how close your family is, maybe make him a scrapbook of family memories.

ok i'm seeing alot of an same solutions the following and they are all wonderful and dandy yet take this into interest. maximum states mandate that you aren't any further a in a position, descion-making criminal human being till you're 18. Lame in a number of those probability free cases i comprehend. Now take into outcome the ccurrent controversy effervescent: putting human beings on the nationwide sex offenders record who had sexual relations with human beings below 18 even if or not they themselves were below 18. imagine about what ought to havppen if this regulation is surpassed. particular human beings dont see a difficulty with a 28 twelve months previous courting a 30 twelve months previous, yet they are both LEGALLY considered adults. "Age aint no longer some thing yet a technique"... so is your identity style on the nationwide sex criminal Registry. it is the sucky area: Leglly you ought to finally end up in deep hardship which will shop on with you for some thing of your existence in case you enter into any variety of sexual courting my suggestion to you... in case you 2 particularly like eachother... then carry out, go on team dates.... I mean he has decrease than a twelve months til hes 18 and criminal and then you adult men have th international at your feet. in case you both experience that you both are worth some thing substantiel, the wait wont matter... yet cover you asses.

A CD with a lot of his favorite music is a good idea. Baking his favorite desserts (they can always be frozen) is a good thought too. Chocolate covered pretzels are great.

Does he golf? If so, maybe a club cover.

A shelf (or set of shelves) is great. Very useful everywhere he goes (home, apartment, dorm, etc).

How about a flying saucer, model plane wooden car etc. Sounds lame though. How about a wooden scrap book for memories or a memory chest? I wish I'd had a special box from my childhood. Everything got separated and lost. There are army chests you could line with cedar and decal with stickers I dunno. I bought an old chest for a girl one time that some old lady had painted before she died. The chest was really sturdy too. But the girl didn't like it so I threw the thing away.(Boo)
