My sister is 32 years old, living in Dublin is quite an independant woman but warm and friendly and has just moved into a new place. Usually i get her a dvd or cd but i would like to break tradition and buy her something interesting this year

dont get her something for her house even tho she has just moved i dont think any girl out there likes a gift for the house on their birthday make it a little personal either a nice piece of silver jewelery you can gat a nice silver belcher braclet not to expensive or if you can afford it a gift voucher for a manicure or pedicure were she can be pampered.

Perhaps something a bit more sentimental ... a nicely framed picture (or collage of photos) of the 2 of you to hang in her new home. If you do get her something for the house don't make it an appliance or anything like that ... I know I'm not crazy about things like that on my birthday.

see if there is anything new that she needs for her house. Women no matter how independant love to get stuff for a new house. Something like some cookwear, a new microwave, or some towel sets. Whatever you think bests suits her personality

heres what i think, moving house is very stressful so ong find her nearest beauticians and her a gift voucher for a facial or a massage or something along those lines maybe she would like to get her makeup done and have a manicure or better still a pedicure very relaxing, whatever you choose she's your sister so she will appreciate it no matter what. good luck

Oh thats simply...Get her something for her place. Like something she needs for her new place. A can opener, iron, little nick nats for her tables or a flower phase. There are lots of things depending on how much u can spend..Good luck and I wish I had a brother as thoughtful as you.

I agree, something for the house....you have almost infinite possibilities. Maybe something decorative....or even something functional like kitchen, bathroom items, etc. good luck!

How about a nice digital camera? Then she can take tons of pictures of her new place and share them with everyone :)

You could get her a chocolate fountain, women love chocolate and it's something for the new place.

But I'm sure whatever you get her she'll love it.
