I do...even if I was bleeding out my eyes, i'd feel bad leaving my coworkers out to dry...

I never feel guilty about it. Rest assured, everyone does it.

Yes, I do feel very guilty calling in sick. I always feel that I am not sick enough to be home. Even if my head is spinning & eyes popping I feel like I am lying when I call in sick. Like you, I feel like I am letting down my coworkers too.

I am still a bit sick as I write, I called sick the past two days and I did feel somewhat guilty, not a whole lot but a little.
I think my parents made me feel bad about it, I was misserable though and the hours of physical labor wouldv'e killed me if I had gone into work saturday.

Yes, and work adds to that guilty feeling.
I work for a hospital, and we're allowed to call in 5 times a year, anything after that and we could be counseled, have it count against our pay or be fired.
You would think a hospital wouldn't want sick staff running around all the sick people, but, to them, a warm body is a warm body. Just stick a stethoscope in your ears and keep going. cough/cough!

Yep. When I call in sick, I always think that I could have gone in and worked through it. But then they get mad when I go in sick because I pass illness around.

No. Thats nothing. My grandfather died 22 years ago, However he still manages to die on every job I ever had. Hell, I go in the bathroom and practice before I call em.

Yes, always. But when I do call in sick, my bosses know it's genuine because I have demonstrated a good work ethic. Oh, how difficult it is to be us. ;)
