Hey there! I just had a computer guy come and fix my home wi-fi network...I have an HP all in one printer, scanner, fax...one of the newest ones (so it does just about everything)--I asked him the same question and he said it's not possible. He said I could use the wire by disconnecting it and then reconnecting it to my laptop...He also added that he thought they were coming out with an all in one with networking capabilities but he recommended not buying the first one as he said he would be extremely surprised to see it actually work, being that the technology is so new. He said it's very hard to send pictures via a network where a document file isn't. I'm not the expert, just relaying what he told me yesterday. HTH!

I think you may have to get a specific 'network' scanner. I have seen in my experience that having an 'all-in-one' printer, for example, and you set it up on the network, many of the functions that are typically available to you when the printer is directly connected to your computer are not available over the network. This is a BS way to be selling products, I know, but alas this is what I've found to be true. I've just lived without the ability, and when I need it I know I must connect the printer directly to my computer.
