I'm confused because I thought Maureen split up with Mark because she discovered she was lesbian but in the song 'Take me or Leave me" she says that ever since puberty boys and girls stare at her which imply thast Maureen is bisexual.

Also the song "Tango Maureen" she is seen dancing with a guy and a girl. I've only seen the movie though.

She claims that she is now lesbian. I think the lyrics in Take Me or Leave Me imply that people - boys AND girls - have always loved her, she can't help that she's so beautiful, etc etc.

I don't know about the dancing in Tango Maureen, but that's not how it is in the original stage version, so they probably made that up for the movie.

In the original lyrics of the song La Vie Boheme [from the New York Theatre Workshop, before it was changed a bit for the opening on Broadway], Mark tries to get Maureen to have sex with him, quickly, in the bathroom at the Life Cafe. Maureen replies by saying "HELLO?! I'm a DYKE!", so she's definitely a lesbian - or at least, she says she is.

I'm pretty sure she's bi, she dated Mark and then Joanne, and seeing as there's the lyrics in Tango Maureen that point to that.
