recently, i was in a bar with my g/f, a guy slapped my a$$ as we ordered our first drink he was ignored. my g/f and are are both curvy women. 10 minutes later after a lot of suggestive comments by the same guy (all were ignored) he slapped my g/f's a$$. we went to the other end of the bar and started playing pool, as i was bent over to take a shot, he tried to put his hand up my skirt, i slapped him... he then tried to put his hand down my blouse, popping 2 buttons in the process, at this point he was angry, i kneed him... downstairs... and let fly with a punch that sent him up and over a table, taking out his front tooth, and loosening another. he also knocked another couples drinks over. from there, he was out cold. my question is, was i right to go into his wallet, make him pay not only for the other couples drinks, but for another one later in the night, and to keep £30 from his wallet to replace my blouse?

before I give you the boring legal answer, I'm gonna say how cool I think you are. Guys who treat women like that give the rest of us a bad name and deserve exactly what you gave to this guy. Thanks!

But on the legal side:
Beating him up is possibly ok. if a court found the force that you used was no more than was reasonably neccessary to counter his assault on you, then your action was in self defence. But that could really go either way in court.

Taking his money was theft. The only way to legally get that money back is to start litigation, which might not be worth your while in time, stress and money. And legally, you'd be required to pay for half of the innocent bystanders' costs, since you were equally responsible for their damage.

I assume you are not in the us but if you where the (law would say no) but that would require them to be called and I don't know anyone in a bar that would call the cops and the guy defiantly would not

and buy the way around hear you would not have had to do the dead someone would have done it for you

oh ya have a nice day

and keep on swinging

I'm sure it felt good to get revenge on the dirt bag, but what you did amounts to stealing. You should have called the police or the bouncer, the guy was obviously a jerk. Here in the states he could press charges and they would probably stick.

Flat out - - - YES. Why are you even wondering if you did the right thing? You should have taken it a step further and called the police and pressed charges. You were just protecting yourself. Bet it will be a while before he will do that again.

No it was not right you took money that did not belong to you that is theft. I agree his actions were wrong but so was yours. If you wanted money to replace blouse or drinks then you should have asked him for or even sued him. You committed a crime even though you were wronged also. Two wrongs don't make a right

What you did was justifiable but if the a hole were to file a complaint with the courts for getting his teeth knocked out I am not sure sure the courts would agree

It wasnt morally right but you needed to make a point to the rest of the men who think they can get away with it..He will probably think twice before be does that again..You had every right to do that...

Ideally the police should have handled it, but why bother? I say - good job, and hopeful you won't have to deal with him again.

I think you were quite justified, although the law might consider it theft.
