You can leave it in a zip lock bag, but store it in the freezer. It will keep it fresh longer.

A good container could be a humidor. A good wood humidor lets the tobacco breathe. Meaning the wood lets moisture escape but holds moisture in as well. And with a humidification device inside the humidor the tobacco will stay moist through the evaporation process from the humidification device.

A humidor is any kind of box or room with constant humidity (and often, temperature as well), used to store cigars or pipe tobacco. For private use, small wooden or acrylic glass humidor boxes for a few dozen cigars are appropriate, while cigar shops often have walk-in humidors, sometimes covering a whole floor. Humidors of all sizes use hygrometers to keep track of the humidity levels.

You always store tobacco in a tin and if you want to keep it moist put just a small bit of orange or lemon peel in it and it will last for ages ,good luck.have a great day
