using firefox, nothing happens...using IE , it says authorization required. I just wanted to see if I remembered my user and password for my settings...now what???

if you can't remember your admin password, then you might have to reset the router settings. there is usually a reset button which will reset the router to the default settings. check your router user's manual.

192 is a router ip address unplug the modem for 30 sec's
then the router for 30 seconds ,plug the modem back in then the router after the lights are steady 1 min that should do it.

It sounds to me like your browsers are trying to log you into the router anonomysly. There are settings inside the browsers to disable this. If you don't feel like trying to search for the setting, get yourself a decent browser such as Netscape that doesn't over ride your security settings without letting you know first what it is doing.

192.168.1.1 is your router's setting page. you need your router password to access it. if you put the password which you made or came with the router in the box that comes up, it'll work

If it's a Linksys router then leave the name blank and use admin as password.

restart your router and your pc where the router is connected and then check the protection key is correct.

maybe its the wrong Ip address....maybe the wireless router isnt working. either one is an easy fix.
