im assuming that you are studying English As A Second Language (EASL). The only way to keep improving is to speak to friends(via IM or email) in English, speak as much as you can in English. Talk with native speakers of the langauge. Aks them to correct you with the proper form or words when they notice that you mess up. My English is pretty good so if you want to email me back and forth or IM then go ahead. daniellagiovanni@yahoo.com

First, try not to model the poor English writing skills of many on Yahoo Answers...and try to practice writing well by avoiding shorthand writing (including using capitals where needed). One thing I tell my students is to read, read and READ some more. By that I mean read novels, non-fiction, newspapers, etc. Find a list of the top 100 American novels and pick a couple to read. The more you read, the better skilled you will become. Write letters, keep a journal. Practice in small ways and you will not only expand your knowledge but painlessly hone your skills.

I'm assuming English is not your first language so I would suggest talking/emailing people who speak English. If you can, join a club where you can become more familiar with people who speak English. I did that with French & Spanish which helped a lot - good luck!

I would take the opportunity to imerse myself in English. Studying in England, Australia, Canada or the US would help.

Watch English TV, get a job in a call center and call Americans in the middle of the night and try to sell them stuff.
