It sounds like your family is having a run of bad luck, and may be looking to the mask as a reason(?). Whether this is the case or not, the power of the mind and it's beliefs, will have far more influence over your luck than a mask. Bare that in mind when dwelling on such things, and before "believing" in mythology. Manifest Destiny and all. If you believe that something has power, it does(like a crucifix). If you believe that you have power over that mask, then you will. That's all it takes--your mind and the belief. Look into Kirlian Photography & Monks and you'll see what I mean...

Yes - - - it can happen - - - there are several reasons and there are ways to deal with it. Certain masks are meant to portray Bad Spirits - - - it is their Job to create mischief. That said there are POSITIVE things you can do. Whenever buying any sort of Tribal Mask - - - ASK It to come home with you. When you bring it home, walk it through the House - - - Ask the Mask to bless your house to protect house & inhabitants. If you have pets place pet & mask face to face and make proper introduction. Though you mght have a spot in mind for Mask, politely ask, Where Do You WIsh to be, Generally a Mask will agree if you slyly say, "Here is a spot I thought you would Like" and it does not hurt to give a plausible 'nice; explanation. "This way you can see the TV," or whatever. Many Masks will ask for Daily "Hello," or at least a look of admiration. You can still right things with the mask that you bought - - - apologize to it for not properly welcoming it to your home and asking for its protection. Peace.

Not that I am aware of. Mum has one on her bedroom wall that my Dad brought back from Kenya, I'm not aware of it ever having brought bad luck, but I would be wary about any African masks and dolls in general. I believe they put Voodoo on some of them!

I have one hanging on my wall, my b/f brought it over from Africa when he moved here and it has been in his family for years. I personally do not like the mask itself, but that is just my personal taste, I don't think it has anything to do with bad luck. I have heard that demons can attach themselves to personal items such as books, jewellery etc, if you feel uneasy about it then I would suggest throwing it away.

First of all, are you sure that the mask is from Africa? I am from Africa and I know for sure that masks made for spiritual purposes are not sold to the public. You need to check yourself and see what is going on in your life before you begin to look for answers in the wrong place.

Some of those masks emulate false Gods, as such the Real God might get angry and decide to give you some garbage until you get rid of it.

I have two Tiki gods that I keep covered with plastic- just to piss off the demons cause its an insult to them
