I am soon to graduate from college, and I just wanted to know whats waiting for me ahead. Dont tell me its bills bills bills, that i know. My question is this. How much money does one spend a month exactly, and on what. The reason this concerns me is because i have been doing some calculations and I believe that there should be absolutely no way that people spend more then 3,500 a month (unless ofcourse they make hundreds of thousands). So please can someone give me a breakdown of money spent (approx.) and the reason. thank you.

Oh you would be surprised how quickly and easily you could spend $3500...$500 for uniforms for school...$1000 for a car repair...oops unexpected dental bills? $500-$2000 (never mind braces for 3 kids at $6000 each...um...let's see, taxes at $500 for 6 months of the year...$300-$500 a week on groceries (including all the eating out everyone does), $150 a month for a metropass (times 3 kids...hey still cheaper than a car...let's not even go there)...$400 for electricity, $250 for gas, water at $1200/year, $300 mo for house/auto insurance...oh and never mind the mortgage of $1500-$2000 a month....shall I stop now? You get the picture....oh and hey, we make nowhere near the hundreds of thousands you think...there's only one way to pay for it all...DEBT...LOL...and if you think there is any left over to "spend" you are wrong, wrong, wrong.

If you fit the model of most Americans, you will spend all you can make and a little more.
