the black text underneath my folders has changed to blue. how do i change it back?

Simple

Left click on the desktop now u can see a drop down list

on that Click Properties
on Properties window u can see a Tab called "Appearence"

on that there will be three option(drop down menu)

change the first one to: Windows Classic style
second one to: Window Standard
Third one to: normal

Click Apply and OK button

I suspect your folders display Blue text under directories which have been compacted. Are some blue and some are still black? If so, try this:

Go to Control Panel, then Folder Options
Choose the View tab
Scroll the window down to the part that says "Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color" and remove the checkmark
Click OK all the way back out
