I don't use weed either but that's a damn good argument. The big problem is more than likely the fact that nowadays there is no telling what yer weed was cut with and what kind of chemicals were thrown in the mix before it got to you.
That problem could be solved if they'd let ya grow yer own though.
Chemically all it's doing is making yer brain produce more endorphins. Yes it will eventually begin to choke off brain cells, but so can cigarettes it just takes a little more Marlboro than Mary Jane to accomplish it.
Unfortunately it also causes sterility. Which is why I believe that anyone who can't do their times tables by the time they are fifteen but have nothing clinically wrong with them should be given a dime bag a day.
They do not need to breed!

Your argument is based on the premise that laughter is healthy. True enough. But don't forget three things just because you might love weed.
1) laughter can be achieved even without weed, which might in fact be healthier
2) smoking is undeniably bad for your health.
3) Weed can even cause cognitive and emotional impairments. Duh.

Harry Anslinger headed the prohibition of weed in the US.
He was funded by the BAA (Brewers Assosciation of America)
and the yellow journalist Hearst. There was also some funding by the chemical industry as they didnt like cheap hemp oil used in making paint.
(yellow journalsim is cheap "news" characterized by the cheap newsprint which soon turns yellow with age. Star and Enquiror are examples)
Like most things it is about money and lots of it in this case.

because the government has no way of properly taxing the sale of marijuana, so they come up with a pill that has more side effects than anything, but its easy to tax, so its legal.... and the more side effects you have, the more pills you will need to take, they dont want you to get high off something that is natural because then you could grow it yourself and get rid of the middle man all together. as long as corporations rule the country, its always going to be that way

Because unfortunately it also kills your brain cells at a faster rate than normal. IT makes you paranoid and if you are susceptible to schizophrenia...it's sure to take you there!
So just go out and make friends and have a good laugh when you can...be happy...naturally!
