The Longest Day, because the opening scenes are right out of the experience of the German soldiers on duty seeing nothing but fog, and then as the fog clears, the water off Normandy and Omaha Beach are filled with boats of all sizes and shapes delivering GIs for the Deliverance of Europe. For a series, I like Band of Brothers from HBO. For a single movie, I like the Devils' Brigade, because my First Sgt Wilmer New, was part of the team that went in and climbed the backside of the mountain and conquered the German soldiers who held the high ground.
