he did not force actual sexual intercourse but coerced her into doing various sexual activities against her will. he has had past issues with drugs and alcohol but he was not under the influence at the time. i always thought he was in love with her but now things are not adding up. he made her swear not to tell anyone but she has opened up to a few friends about it. she is a very emotionally strong person but she told me she frequently has panic attacks now. she says she does not know why but she will suddenly spike a low grade fever and break into a cold sweat and start shaking. she will then become enraged at certain people if they are with her. she also cuts herself and gets drunk often but she claims none of this is a result of her assault and that she doesn't even care that the assault happened. so my question is could my friend be having panic attacks and those other negative side effects b/c of the assault and not even realize that is what is causing it?

i don't know if this indicates obsession or anything but the whole time he was doing stuff to her he kept telling her the hottest thing in the world would be to see her *** and he wouldnt stop until he could see her ***. she never did though because someone came in the room, ending the assaut. do u think b/c she didnt *** he may attack her again in hopes she will?

also in the following 24 hours after the assault he called her phone 13+ times and she never answered so he left her a voicemail saying he realy needed to talk to her and that her boyfriend had found out what he had done and yelled at him. he also stated that her boyfriend needed to learn how to share

CERTAINLY! i was raped 13 years ago... i still have panic attacks when i am in similar atmospheres... or see something similar on television. my ex husband was beating on my door around 11pm on a weekend when he had the kids (we were just legally seperated at the time). i answered the door thinking something was wrong with one of the boys... he raped me. he told me i "wouldn't have answered the door in my pajamas if i didn't want it". so when i hear someone outside my door at night... or one of the kids friends stop by and knock... or so many similar things.... i think i'm going to die from hyperventiliation. HERE'S THE WORST PART: i didn't report it and almost 2 weeks later he held a loaded shot gun to my head in a parking lot. because some people came out of a store screaming (it was near dusk) he fled. BECAUSE i didn't report the rape, and he had no prior criminal history he only got probabtion on a plea bargin of deadly assault WITHOUT the intent to kill.

do you see how serious obsessions can be? i would suggest that she still report this! who knows what he will do next, AND WHEN! also, please contact a domestic violance shelter and get some info on sexual abuse... and get her into therapy. therapy does help.

i do understand... and it sickens me to know that there are so many people out there in the world that will take advantage of others... best of luck to you and your friend!

You have no idea how closely i can relate to this. I was assaulted by my brother from the ages of 9 to 13. At 15 I started having anger issues, then started cutting. I didn't really know the cause of it. Then he tried to do it again just last year. I knew if I didn't tell anyone that things would just get worse so I did. Then when I started getting conseling my conselor told me that the possible reason that i was cutting was that I was so used to keeping my feelings to myself, b/c I had kept this huge secret for 7 yrs. And now I have flashbacks and so many things can bring back memories for me. When that happens i flip out. So my answer is yes the sexual assault could be causing those negative effects.

And tell your friend that she shouldn't feel guilty for what he did. In a situation like hers that is the most important thing for her to know.

You have to try and get her to see Dr. I do believe she does have an anxiety panic disorder and it needs to be looked at It can only get worse. She really needs to see a therapist
