Those are some of my favorite books too. Definitely read Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut. I'd also recommend Invisible Cities, or If on a Winter's Night a Traveler by Italo Calvino. Also, I hear that Ender's Game is along those futuristic societal lines and that it is a good book. Also try the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Also, I really like the Picture of Dorian Gray.

Theres a good chance it will totally change you're life.

On the road is a good easy read. You should probably read the Sun Also Rises Hemingway if you like generation defining books.

i also like 1984 and To Kill A Mockingbird. but my favorite author is Piers Anthony. i like the Xanth series the best. so far i have read Heaven Cent, Cube Route, and Man From Mundania. i cant wait to read the rest of the series hopefully in order starting with A Spell For Chameleon. i also like the Mode series which consists of Virtual Mode, Fractal Mode, Chaos Mode, and DoOon Mode. if you like fantasy style novels i definitly recommend these books. they have loads of puns and interesting adventures. and dont forget the strange and interesting creatures.

I haven't finished the book yet, I'm only about halfway through, but Life of Pi by Yann Martel is fascinating and quite thought provoking. I think it'd be something you'd enjoy.
