Make her a coupon book of things that you will offer to do for her...i.e. dishes, dinner prepared, errands to the store, ...I think this is the most heartfelt gift.

Look after the baby for the evening and get the parents a good meal in a good restaurant.
Remember the mum was not allowed to eat or drink certain food/beverage for the pas 9 months!!!
I would like that "present".

How about a gift certificate to the nail salon? Any women would love to get pampered and get away for an hour or 2. Time away does wonders even if its just for alittle while, especially when shes nursing.

gift certificate for a food place. New baby puts strain on budget and time. Food is a good gift, maybe offer to babysit while she goes out as well.

a massage..if she's just had a baby, she's probably lost alot of sleep and is really tired. massages are a great way to get out of the house for a while and relax. u could offer to babysit while she is gone, too

An offer to babysit for her for a night so she can go out! Also, maybe some bottles and formula....try and convince her that the nursing thing only tethers her to the house.
