A 'retard' is also a musical term, which means coming in slightly behind the beat. It doesn't matter what most of today's songs are about, you can't hear the lyrics anyway. Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and their ilk sang songs that told a story. A nice, complete little story in one song, with a pretty melody -- something you could hum -- instead of somebody whaling away on a guitar and creating dissonance.
There was a recent study that showed a definite causal relationship between early sexual activity and listening to 'modern' music, which denigrates women, denigrates love, and reduces sex to something you do just to pass the time, much like chewing gum.
It was an interesting study!

I agree!!!!
All that sh*t they play these days is nothing but toxic filth. WHY anybody would "love" SO-CALLED "music" that revolves around nothing but "hos" & "bling" & shooting people is beyond me. I think the world has gone INSANE!
Frank & Judy & Nat are all undoubtedly WAY beyond this league of losers. HOWEVER, that's not really my "bag", either! Give me back my '60s "oldies" & '70s "classic rock"!!!!!!!!!!

Not all of it does. Around a year ago I stopped listening to the radio and started listening only to the things I enjoy, and I've found tons of obscure bands that are amazing.
