Who is a better actor Al Pacino or Robert Deniro?

You won't get a right or wrong answer here,,, only personal opinions,,, since you didn't ask,,,"WHO DO WE THINK IS"

They are in and from the same basic mold and role structures.

They also are not always GREAT in every role, and even though subtly oppose each other in some kind of competition you suggest, they have their place.

Both should be considered talented, well liked, skilled, and prolific,,,as well as probably wealthy. Both contribute, as they choose, to the movie going public, in roles they might believe suit them.

I enjoy both, but specifically, not generally, in all the roles they have played.

Tough question. I give Deniro the edge , just a bit over Pacino. Their both great all around actors, meaning they can play any role rather its drama, action. comedy, etc. Pacino to me was always at his best when he played a cop role. I give Deniro the edge because, when it comes to playing the villian, Pacino has nothing on him, and when it comes to comedy, Deniro is a lot more funnier than Pacino.

I think Robert DeNiro has acted in more diverse roles. It seems, for the most part, that Pacino always plays the same type of character but that's not to say that he doesn't do an outstanding job of it. I like them both.

De Niro hands down. Love Pacino but he is a ham in so many roles esp. since Scent of a Woman.
