I went there for Spring Break one year in college. Sea World was actually my favorite event. It is much better than the one in San Diego, and you can get cheap coupons on their website sometimes. There is also a Six Flags in the area. Then of course there is the Alamo, but they don't let you take pictures inside which is a disappointment. It is also close to the riverwalk, so we did the Alamo and the riverwalk in one day. There are also some caves and a safari park nearby but we didn't make it to them so I don't know if they are any good. There is also the San Antonio zoo, which is a pretty decent zoo but nothing spectacular. Oh yeah and stay away from the Travelodge San Antonio Alamo on Broadway because they tried to scam us out of a lot of money when we checked in.

May is a good time. April would be even better, with all the wildflowers in bloom! There are several good places to stay on the Riverwalk. I stayed at the Drury Inn, which was very nice. La Mansion del Rio is beautiful!!! I'd love to stay there, but it was too expensive for me. There are so many restaurants and shops on the Riverwalk, but if you want a fun Mexican experience, go to Market Square, just a few blocks to the west. The restaurant La Margarita is excellent! You might even be serenaded by a mariachi band there.
The Rainforest Cafe on the riverwalk was fun and quirky, but for lunch it was too expensive and the dishes too big.
Hard Rock Cafe rocks, of course! My teenage kids absolutely loved it there!
Remember the Alamo, of course, but don't leave out the other missions. Especially Mission San Jose. Take South St. Mary's just a little ways out of town for the mission trail. Mission San Jose on the hour tolls the time, but then the bells play a beautiful tune! The other missions might do the same.
You're smart to go in the spring. I went in August. Only time my family could get away, but it's more crowded and hot hot hot!!!

I'm not sure what you are in to, but there are alot of fun things to do on the Riverwalk .. good restaurants (Dick's Last Resort, Margaritas, etc..), good bars (Pat-O-Brien's, Hooters, etc..), the riverboat tour, the Alamo, the river center mall, the market, tons of small local shops, Ripley's Believe it or Not, etc.. If you are going around the 5th you should check out the Cinco De Mayo celebrations. There are some other good things to check out in the city that aren't on the Riverwalk (Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Sea World) and San Marcos is nearby and has a huge set of outlet malls that have just about any store you can think of.

I believe you mean the "Riverwalk"? I went there about eight years ago and had a very nice time. For one, being down low, near the water and under the shade trees makes it a fair bit cooler than the surrounding neighborhood. I especially enjoyed the boat tour as the guide explained a lot of the history of the area which I would otherwise been ignorant of, but the restaurants & pubs deserve a high five as well. Don't forget to remember the Alamo, wear comfortable walking shoes, and get a map!

It's been a while since I was there, but the riverboats are fun. Especially when you pass under the bridge with the Mariachi band and singers with the tight pants and short jackets.... but I digress! There is a great Mexican food restaurant on the Riverwalk, called La Paloma. The best Tex Mex I ever had, and I live in Austin.

I live in SA and there is lots to do, Riverwalk mall, the comedy club, fiesta texas, sea world, the usual Alamo tour, wax museum, don't do the zoo, it's not the best. Botanical gardens. Restaurants on the river are pricey, try some hole in walls-they are the best. Have fun and dress cool

Try to stay ON the riverfront. You won't have to fight traffic to get there from someone else or have to deal with parking. It's best to stay right there downtown and of course it's more beautiful.
Eat on the Riverwalk at night - its very pretty and romantic.

Paisono's has severe rankings, yet i do no longer think of it incredibly is one I relatively have eaten at. We circulate to San Antonio now and lower back and found an magnificent Northern Italian eating place with great wine checklist hidden in a miles off nook of the stroll next to a extensive inn (regrettably i'm detrimental with names). finding on Google, i think of that it relatively is maximum in all likelihood Michelino's at 521 River stroll. You being there , you need to examine it out—in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it grow to be real Italian (we are residing in Chicago). i'm confident you're additionally attentive to Boudro's (no longer—Italian yet i comprehend that call for confident) which has an magnificent lunch and that they make sparkling guacomole table facet. i'm hoping to be there lower back quickly and revisit those places and write down there names. wish you appreciate..
