You can add your family's ethnicity if you want - I am curious as to which cultures prefer which bed-making method. I grew up in a sheet and blanket household, but I suspect nobody makes the bed that way anymore.

I prefer in the summer months especially, sheets, and a coverlet! It is so comfortable, and when it needs washed, it is easy to care for because it doesn't take up the whole washer and dryer! In the cooler months, I just add a blanket under the coverlet, and I'm warm and cozy! Another tip, if you have a pet that insists on sleeping in your bed, you don't mind washing the coverlets all the time like the big bulky covers, and they dry faster!

Well, it depends on your habit and preferences. Some like sheets and blankets and some just can't sleep without comforters and quilts. However, most people prefer to use just sheets and blankets in the summer coz it's very comfortable sleeping in it but particularly in Canadian winter one can't sleep without comforters or quilts though.Happy blanketing!

I think it has to do with preference. When I was younger my mom made our beds with sheets and quilts because my grandmother made them. As I grew up I slowly changed from the quilts to comforter because I liked the different patterns and colors. I do still like to use quilts though, I guess they just comfort me and remind me of way back when. :o)

I grew up in a sheets-and-blankets household.

Now I'm a sheets-and-comforters person.
