Using racism as a crutch is though. I you blame all of your problems on racism instead of taking responsibility for your actions you are to blame. Most white people don't think racism is that much of a problem. It tends to be black people which keep bringing it up. Things like affirmative action and reparations fro slavery only make it worse.
We do we focus so much on the past. For instance I was born in 1979. Long after the civil rights movement. SO since I have been around equality has existed. Accept for those government programs which give minorities a unfair advantage. The past is the past. Personally I don't care about things which happened before I was born. I have no control over them. But I do have control over the future. So I care about that.

I think, on some level, we have to live in the present. What is going on today. I do not have any slaves in my basement (not to be insensitive), and would never ever consider trying to take another human being and force them into being subservient.
Some things are still alive today (slavery in all forms from black, to husbands against wives to parents against children). We should look at our own hearts to see where "we" are, and what "our" beliefs are on the subject matter at hand. We need not make up for misdeeds, that were inflicted upon innocent people, of a past that pre-dated our very existance.

Alright well in today's society, atleast where i live, racisim has truly reversed. Let me explain. I'll use my school as an example. In the workforce and in public racism isn't really recognizable, it is only apparent in the youth. I am 17 and in highschool btw. Now then, in my high school the hispanic students generally clump together and refuse to interact, act civilly to faculty, or be even tolerable as people to anybody not of their race. Now, whenever a faculty member or anybody else tries to tell them they are doing something wrong, Got in a fight, were cruel to someone, starting rumors, ect. they fire back with racist remarks such as "It's because I'm black" or other ridiculous comments. It is in no way because of your race it is because of your actions. Generally, in the Wenatchee Valley where I live, there is very little racism from white people. There is very little racism from black people. Honestly though, from the hispanic youth, racism knows no bounds.

It is one thing to be aware of racism, its another to accuse whites of being racist when you never experienced racism. You get yourself worked up from the internet yet never been out in the real world.

It is not great news when racists blame victims. Though racists exists also among black people. No one is automatically protected from such mistakes, it needs some experience and education to do not be racists. Especially because of the fact that racism has multiple faces. A black person may be discriminated not only because he/she is black, but sometimes because of traditinal clothing (culturally), dialect, handicap, sex, etc.
I know that some "white" people are discriminated by black people (e.g. refusing to play billiards in a club), but these black people do not understand that these "whites" are not taken as "white" by majority population. I met some guys who were shocked: discriminated all their age in their country they came to London, felt being people themselves maybe for the first time; later went to pass an evening as people and were accused by other guys that "you, white, you discriminated us for ages, do not play kind people, go to your own places". Especially strange because the country they came never had any colonies or slavery.

Those who "use" the race card, to keep the black people "hating whites" are racists!
Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and a whole bunch more, are racists to the core, because they hate whites, but, they claim that they "can not" be racists, because they cannot "economically impact whites"...thats the biggest load of garbage I ever heard!!
I cant impact blacks, yet "I" can be a racists, if I were so inclined! So, dont tell me that a black man/woman, cant be a racists, just because they dont impact me!
A racists is some one who HATES!! I dont care what color they are, if they hate a "race", because of thier color of skin, then the label sticks!
You can use all the fancy words, to say your not this, or not that, but, you actions speak louder than any words possible...and, in my opinion, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, and others, have demonstrated this implicively!
I wish you well...
Jesse

no being aware of racism is not racist, thats correct. what is racists is assuming that someone is racist because they are of a certain race. like a lot of minorities think that because we're white, then obviously we're racist, thats a stereotype, just like saying black people are lazy or something. stereotyping is WRONG. so don't accuse anyone of being racist until they have made a racist comment to you!

Hon, don't tell me that the racist Blacks I've come in contact with are just "aware of racism." When one Black woman says to another Black woman "She's alright for a white woman." Do you think THAT'S just being "aware of racism?" I had a principal who went after every white person that worked for her and tried to destroy their careers, including mine. Don't tell me that she was just "being aware of racism." I guess the Klan is just being aware of racism, too. Oh, but THAT'S different.

i'm helpful the proportion of black racists is comparable to white racists, if no longer greater. right here is the genuine concern nevertheless. I even have black pals who shop speaking approximately racism and you be conscious of what? It pisses white human beings off. for occasion, if something undesirable happens to a black individual, each and every black individual is so speedy to declare it somewhat is racism. provide up enjoying the race card because of the fact it somewhat is hectic, and it somewhat is in hassle-free terms going to make white human beings resent you.

to answer the question of why--- for the same reason the black community calls white people who are racially aware such as a number of us are, racist, it isn't what they want to hear and that makes them take offense to what is being said. we are also aware of racist. oh buy the way Will Smith and Jimmy Hoffa, are they going to be on your next T.V. special?
