The DS is of course the cheaper of your two options.... And there are few "extras" with the lite.... With the exception of the brightness adjustment, if you can do it on the DS lite it can mostly be done on the DS....With that being said....The brightness in the DS Lite is reason alone to buy this thing... I can't go back to my old DS, it's just to hard to see, and the brightness makes all your games seem new.... The lite is also much easier to hold and use.... You no longer can hit the power button accidently while using the D-pad and the stylus is in a more convieniet place... So In my own opinion the Lite is the better option, but you are not missing out on games/ect with the regular DS

well they both are the same except the fact that dslite has a brighter screen and is smaller and the buttons are a lil difffrnt but i wud suggest the lite. unless u dont like small things... it just depends on what u like. the ds is bigger than the lite.. so if u want the bigger one get the ds.

buy the lite. it has a lot more light settings, the on setting for the original is the dimmest,it has easier to use buttons and stylus, and its i think 2-3 the size of the original, and its the same original price, 130 dollars

I reccomned DS LITE really good light quality and also very light on weight capacity its good on the battery lifespan and when ur on car trips well u can play it with really great light quality hope this answer helped u.

lite definitely, becuase the original ds is bluky, heavier and stores less memory. the lite is exactly the opposite: slick, smaller which is nicer because it can fit into your pocket, and it stores more memory.
