Does anyone know about green glassware?

I have a green glass piece that is my mother's and I wanted to find out where it came from. Any idea what company would have a symbol "M" on the glass?

Add some details---what kind of piece is it? Do you have any idea how old it is? Is it deep green (forest green) or a light green? I have several reference books I could check for you, but I need more information.
