Exception: Baby formula and breast milk if a baby or small child is traveling; prescription medicine with a name that matches the passenger’s ticket; and insulin and essential other non-prescription medicines

Lipstick is currently OK. There ARE some recent changes though. Shoes with Gel cushons in the heel for instance, and those "Gellin" inserts...

Here's a link to the TSA website with all the latest updates.

I was actually wondering about that too because I'm going on travelling too. Liquids and gels (i.e. shampoo, lotions, cream, perfume, beverages - even unopened water bottles, liquid/cream makeup) are not allowed (no exceptions). Only baby formula/food is allowed, but the parent(s) have to open them and try them infront of the inspectors.

I actually called my travel agent and lipsticks and even chapsticks are not allowed (they are considered semi-cream in texture), which really sucks, but what can we do.

So far all containers BUT I heard this morning they may be easing the restrictions in a few days, on the news today. This includes all bottles, lipstick tubes, deoderant, perfume bottels , even pill bottles unless they are labelled with your name, eveything - no exceptions. Check with your departing airport by going to their website or the airline that you are flying on.

You can't take anything liquid or gel in carry on luggage. Avoid it and just put it in your checked bags. (Or have anything liquid or gel you need shipped to where you're going - call the hotel ahead first and make sure it's cool with them.)

The airline you're flying on should be able to link you to the FAA site or have the complete list of what's not allowed in carry on.
