A deodorant offers protection from odor only - it doesn't retard perspiration. Anti-perspirants offer limited protection from perspiration and odor ( to a limited extent ).
I personally stopped using anti-perspirants a long time ago after my Dr. told me that studies have shown that they have been connected to several types of cancer. I investigated this myself and found it to be the case. When you think about it, a chemical that attempts to stop the body from performing something it's definitely supposed to do - perspiring - is probably not a good idea in my mind.
Sometimes you have to look a bit harder to find a product that is only a deodorant since most people want anti-perspirants. I use a product by Toms of Maine that comes in several nice scents and uses natural botanicals to retard odor. After I put that on I put on Shower To Shower body powder on top of it and it works (for me, anyway) better than any anti-perspirant.

A deodorant just covers up the smell, but an anti-perspirant helps to stop you perspiring. I think it is best to use one that is both an anti-perspirant and a deodorant (which has a nice smell). I find that sprays are the best for this - I use Sure or Right Guard. I think that buying cheaper makes is a false economy. Personlly, I do not find that stick anti-perspirants work very well.
There is a new Sure deodorant out that doesn't leave the white marks, and still smells good - can't think of the name, but will add it in, if I find out. There is also a Sure antiperspirant/deodorant that has Aloe Vera in it, which is gentle but still strong and works well.
I have heard, however, that anti-perspirants may be a health risk, that there is a risk of cancer, but I don't know if this has been proven. Everything in life seems to have some risk, though.
Well, I hope this helps:>)

i could not even stop laughing! turn to flour, it is time to bake cakes with dedorant! liek ppl siad deodorant only gives u a better smell, while antipersperant or antitranspirant, bcos they are alike, don't let u sweat.
trust me i have tried more than one anti transpirant, but i sweat normally, the only difference is that it has got a nice smell. for those who sweat a lot need antitranspirant, a deodorant is not enough, because even though they do, itwon't last for a long time, if you sweat a lot, u will have a smell of sweat, while if u use a good anti transpirant no!
it depends on ur situation

Deodorant kills the micro organism that reason body smell, besides as neutralizing the smell itself. Anti-perspirant does an same component, in spite of the undeniable fact that it also paralyzes the sweat glands so that you may't perspire. I stay & artwork in south Texas the position, as you may comprehend, it receives a tad warmth at cases. I favor deodorant over anti-perspirant because some thing of me is going to sweat so the pits ought to besides sweat, too, and the deodorant stops the scent. also, anti-perspirant has a tendency to go away the utilized area feeling waxy & useless, and that i hate that feeling.

Hello,
Hyperhidrosis, also known as polyhidrosis or sudorrhea means excessive sweating; sweating too much
The most active regions of perspiration include the hands, feet, armpits and the groin area because of a relatively high concentration of sweat glands in those areas.
There are two types of hyperhidrosis. Primary focal hyperhidrosis refers to overactive sweat glands that affect certain areas of the body, such as the hands, feet, face or underarms.
This form of hyperhidrosis can't be prevented and isn't contagious because it was probably inherited (although the condition may skip a generation). Secondary generalized hyperhidrosis is total body
sweating prompted by secondary medical conditions or medications.

antipersperant is better because it helps to stop the sweat, deodorant only helps to make you smell good.

Deodorant neutralizes smell. Anti-perspirant does that and inhibits sweat glands. Keeps your clothes nice.

Anti perspirent doesn't turn to flour, she's obviously using the cheap ones! try Lynx/ Axe anti perspirant stick (I'm fenmale but it's better than any for women) It doesn't turn to flour, it doesn't leave white marks and it stops you sweating! Deoderant just covers up the smell - you still get wet and sweaty, yuck.

A deodorant merely covers up the perspiration's odor with a scent, while antiperspirant is just that! It keeps you from perspiring where you apply it. I prefer antiperspirant.
