i am currently woking in the uk but as i recieve a low income and have 2 children i also recieve child and working tax credits , does anyone know if its the same in amsterdam as i plan to move there but cant really live on my wages alone ,please help

Yes you can claim supplementary benefit to cover your basic needs if your wages don't cover them.

The Sociale Verzekeringsbank and The Belastingdienst cover these issues. I am afraid the information of the Belastingdienst (tax) is not in English, I believe the SVB gives better information. But it all depends on the age of your kids, do they need a day care center (Toeslag kinderopvang) or after school care? Those issues are arranged by the Belastingdienst. SVB gives child benefit. (NB: this is not 'Bijstand', which is for people who do not have a job)
