Somewhat. Ones auto in many instances reflect their style, personality and how they would like for the world to see them.
In my case My auto are always clean, neat, not showy, but stylishly subdued.

I would say that you first have to know the person well to make the judgement as I think your question would be a yes. One son-in-law drives a car at least 12 years and he buys the best protected one he can buy (he and his wife are physicians with good self esteem). On the other hand another member of the family buys new cars every year for he and his wife as it is "cool". I drive a Honda Element with no carpet because it does fit me...living in the middle of the country over caliche roads and hauling everything from plants to farm equipment in it. My car is not my identity in life (but I am "old")My son has to have an over-equipped Audi that is as clean and impressive as his clothes.....but he is still young and impressed by material things.

I like expensive things, have expensive tastes (forgive me I am an only child). Even though my husband warns me against it the cars I buy are generally European or luxury cars. I figure I can afford them and I look good in them are my reasons for buying them. So I guess my answer is yes. They are an extension because they reflect my clothes, shoes, hang bag and house.

I thought that was the other way around.
The car (or bike) is the extension of the owners soul. I hope not. For if it is true, I may be over extended with my Escort, Impala and Roadmaster.

I don't know about that but I've customized my Audi A4 2.8 QTS.
It now has Xm radio, APR performace chip, Cold air intake,
Eibach sport springs, Brembo brakes, Euro-lights and tinted glass
My other car is a red BMW 325i I have no idea what that means!
My dream car / next car is a BMW 540i w/Dinan S3 package!

I don't believe that. If this would be true, then I would have a Ferrarie, however, I can't afford one. If you could afford it, you wouldn't settle for a Dodge either.
