i would not try that...it is probably unhealthy for the baby. has your doctor stripped your membranes yet? look that up if you don't know what it is...and yes, only a doctor can do that! it put me into labor when mine did it. good luck and relax, that baby will come out sooner or later. ;-)

Hi, I don't know if I would do that. I have a friend.who is about to pop right now. Have you tried walking and eating spicey foods. That could help. I wish that I could tell you some miracle that would help you go into labor but i can't. I wish my friend would go into labor soon. She is so miserable. Spicey food may give you a tore up stomach. This in turn will make your stomach cramp just like a laxitive. The cramps could trigger labor. I hope that all goes well. I know with my second child the doctor told me to do an enima at home because I was so stopped up. I was already scheduled for induction for the next day. When I got to the hospital they said that I was already having contractions. Anyhow good luck.

NO laxative. The baby will come when ready. You certainly do not want to put your baby in danger with a laxative or yourself. Not much really that you can do about when it comes. Try walking alot. It will happen when it is suppose to happen. Remember, this time will be a memory before you know it and you will think back one day when you look at your child just what it was like and all about having your precious child. Try to enjoy it if you can. All the best to you! And Congrats!!

Do not take a laxative, your body needs all the nutrients it can get right now. Your body will naturally empty and clean itself out when the time is ready. Try walking or nipple stimulation. Actually, new research proves that people who have sex after they are full term actually stay pregnant 3 or 4 days longer than the women that obstain from it.

I would not use purgatives to bring on labour, for one thing it would not work, and it would probably be harmful to you and/or the baby.

I read a feature in a magazine once about women who found their labour was brought on by spicy foods. This might have been a set of amazing coincidences, but it's worth a go. :)

I have heard of midwives telling women to use enemas and castor oil and I have personally used castor oil and it worked and just took 2 oz to try and speed this one up.
