I have to find a Jacobean Monologue speech for my third year of training at drama school in the UK to do in voice classes. Can anyone suggest any good Jacobean Male monologues (nneds to be 90 seconds in length but can be cut)?
Preferably dark and meaningful, but any suggestions accepted.

Take a look at the play "The Changeling" (I believe the authors are Middleton and Rowley)...the evil guy in there is a character named De Flores, and he has at least one very good monologue.

"'Tis Pity She's a Whore" (by John Ford) is also worth looking at.

You might try the Revenger's Tragedy. Very dark, with a lot of dark humour. Several male characters have excellent monolouges.
