I actually liked Cars. Took my 3 year old to see it and he loved it. I haven't gotten to see Pirates yet, but I'm dying to. I loved the first one.

Pirates 2 was great and all but it was bit by the numbers. I dug Once in A Lifetime. It's docu on the NY Cosmos. Maybe not your thing but I loved it. Brought back great memories of Pele, Franz, Bogie, Giorgio et al.
