Sure, flintstones are fine, assuming you are in the target audience for them. But I'm assuming you are not a child. Prenatal vitamins are designed to meet your specific needs while pregnant. Don't try to substitute.

Are you kidding??? NO! , you need to be taking prenatal vitamins w/ folic acid! Are you trying to save $$$? Flinstones??? Yikes, you do not sound mature enough to be thinking about having a baby. Second, I have ready that when you are pregnant, taking regular vitamins, (not prenatal) can be dangerous because it can contain too much of something and can be harmful to the baby

I've heard of many women that take _two_ flinstones along with a folic acid supplement if they can't keep down the intimidating prenatal vitamin. Yes 1 is the adult recommended dosage but you're not just one person anymore.

It is very common for doctors to prescribe 2 Flintstone Complete vitamins in replace of prenatal vitamins. Since you body needs the nutrients of 2 people, just 1 of the vitamins will not be enough.

Prenatal vitamins are not the same as Flintstones and you might be lacking something, like calcium. Talk with your doctor if you have a problem with the prenatal vitamins.

Just one vitamin of any kind, if it has iron in it (which it needs to for a preg lady). Too much iron can be VERY bad for you!
Really, a prenatal vitamin is best, since it has everything a preg woman needs for herself and her growing baby. However, something is better than nothing. Prenatal vites made me SOOOO sick no matter what I did, so my doc said I could take a chewable. He did say to make sure you eat well and have lots of healthy foods. Ask your doc if there is anything they especially want you to have and how to get it in your diet.

yes! only take one, that is the prescribed dosage for an adult. but, always make sure to double check with your doctor, in case you have special needs during your pregnancy, but more than likely it will be fine. :-)
edit: look at the back of the label on flintstones compared to prenatal--most of the ingredients are the same, flintstones have folic acid, calcium, and iron. and no you do not have to take 2 because you have another person inside of you! that other person is only a teen tiny baby! if you take too much iron it can be harmful...so please, ask your doctor about the right dose, only he or she will know for sure.

Yes, Flintstones are OK for you to take. Several of our OB's suggest their patients take them when they can't tolerate the prenatals. Personally, the taste of those would make me gag, but to each his own...................
Double check with your doctor to see if you might need another source of things like calcium (those chewable squares are good/esp the carmel ones) and folic acid (they're small tablets).
Do check with your doctor, and have a great pregnancy!!
