Perhaps in a world of peace, Democracy will work, but it sure as hell won't work in these third world countries we are "saving".

Sure Democracy is practical. Maybe not everyone agrees, but one hell of a lot of people want to come to America for a better life.
Democracy isn't only oral. We wrote it down in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, and the Emancipation Proclamation. And why do you want to change it? "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

i think it depends , everyone wants to be listened , everyone wants their opinions to be heard and everyone wants democracy to agrees whit them all the time . in my opinion democracy is a good thing however it is sometimes unfair and it doesn't accomplish the main desire which is justice .
i believe that the only way to change this is by all becoming more open minded , by accepting others like we want to be accepted and by never imposing our desires in others like if they didn't matter .
democracy of course is the desire of the majority but this majority should never oppress those which don't agree them democracy should be inclusive and open to be criticized .

democracy does not work, in our courts, there are serial killers that can get away with murder, there can be people who molest hundreds of boys and get away with it. O.J. Simpson got away with his wife's murder.
