Maybe a Toyota Corrola. They are very dependable, inexpensive, and get good gas mileage. You could probably find cheaper cars out there, but you have to remember that when you buy cheap cars they will have more problems and be in the shop more. So you might end up shelling out more in the long run, and driving a worse car at the same time. The key is to find a reliable car that is not to expensive. I would think a Corrola would fit into that category.

I own a repair shop in Tennessee,, and i recommend a Toyota corolla or a dodge neon,,they both are cheap to buy and are good cars,,i would prefer the corolla over the neon,,but you cant always find a good one when you want it,,Honda's are also pretty good cars ,,but they do have problems when they start getting a few miles on them,,the Saturn is a real good car to own,,they are easy to work on and cheap to operate,,and have been known to be good and reliable cars all the way up to a 200.000 miles,,and better,,any one of these would make a first good car these are the cars that i don't get in that much to repair,,so that tells me there doing OK,i hope this helps.

Toyota Corollas have an excellent resale record. They are VERY dependable cars and easy to drive. Just make sure of its history before you buy a particular one. You can do this on the web - I forget the name of the site - you put the VIN# in and it will tell you if it's ever been in an accident, flood, etc. These cars can easily go 100,000+ miles. Just be sure to check it out.
