You've heard it before, but 42. If these references confused you, it is because they are taken from the four book trilogy (yes, I KNOW a trilogy is supposed to be three books, keep reading) by Douglas Adams.
The humor is Quixotic, and distinctly British, but if you are into science, you will likely appreciate it.

To be happy, but this takes a lot of time and consideration, it does not come automatically. Only you can make you happy, don't expect anyone else to do it for you, they are busy doing it for themselves. I could go on, people write books about it but I think you can do it better on your own.
