I see, so what you're saying is that all traffic lights should be green? Variety is the spice of life I like some diversity in my life. What if extra terrestrials decided there should only be grays or greens or them? The point is not to be offended by differences. Colored is an old word from the south and mildly separates people. How would you describe yourself in the personals if you were looking for someone of your own race? Why is it somone is always looking for a fight or an argument over something. Sheesh.

You studied Ebonics where?

Honky, whitey, cracker, plantation owner, bigot: these are rude too.

S*p*i*c, chink, whop, homie, slant-eye, wet-back: these are rude too.

Your question seems to be one-sided and generalized, as if you are saying all Caucasians are racists.

First, all Caucasians are not racists.

Second, racism is not limited to Caucasians. People of Hispanic, African, Middle Eastern, and East European can be racist in their attitudes.

Third, there is racism with the Black community. [Note: I use "Black" in the same way that Jet and Ebony magazines use the term.] Light Blacks versus dark Blacks versus black Blacks. They have sororities and fraternities on college campuses which in effect are intra-racist because of who they will and will not allow to join. Blacks will cross the street when approaching another Black walking towards them on the same side of the street because they are also afraid of Black-on-Black crime and violence.

Fourth, some of the most degrading music ever conceived has been created by Black song writers and Black musicians and are purchased by and listened to by Blacks. These lyrics try to normalize Black violence, Black sexual crimes, Black-on-white crime, Black rape, Black racism (against those people of any other racial background) and Black gangs.

Fifth, there is a double standard regarding the use of racial epithets. Some Blacks use N*i*g*g*e*r, N*i*g*g*a, etc. in their everyday vocabulary, as if sanctioning its use. However, if someone other than a Black uses the term, the user is labelled a racist.

Homo sapiens as a whole need to look at the issue of homogeneity and its positive and negative impact. People who are alike do tend to congregate with those like them, to the exclusion of those not like them. Homogeneity is neither racist nor morally wrong, it is just a part of being human.

All humankind needs to come to terms with the fact that there are many different backgrounds and that these backgrounds will not always mix well. That does not make one background better or worse than another. They can co-exist in the same community, in the same nation, on the same planet.

[Writer note: I have included some racially "charged" terms by using asterisks between letters to bypass Yahoo!'s auto-editing software. Their inclusion is not meant to be racist. Their inclusion is to make certain we do not lose sight of the real issue: not vocabulary but attitude.]

Everybody is colored or you would not be. Some white (Albino's) but they are really pink for the most part, some dark, some in between but all have some color to them so why not just call everyone human? That is what we are after all.

Why does my kitchen have an "ice box"? No body has delivered ice for 60 years. This term will fade away.
