I recall having memories of things around our home and family from before I was able to crawl or walk. No one ever spoke of that as being unusual until I was in the higher grades in school. That was when eventually classmates brought up lack of memories.
Just this year my last living Aunt asked me a question regarding some family history that had been kept from her by others and I was able to put that to rest. It was something I had never known was an issue.
But then when I was little, a common saying was, "children should be seen and not heard" as a matter of good manners. So, I guess those factors primed us to watch and listen. Not a lot of fun but well some of us took it all in.

My first memory is of my Grandma changing my diaper.
Whether it is a true memory or not i dont know.
I am not the only person who can remember back to
toddler hood, and this was way earlier than 3 years old.

my youngest memory was when my parents dropped me off at my grandparents house so they could have a few nights to themselves, they gave me a kiss on top of my head and said bye. this was my first sleep over as well and i was scared to be without them. my grandmother had a screen door at the time and as i watched them back out of the drive way to leave, i tried my best to get through that screen door, and as they were driving down the road leaving, i was hysterical. i didn't understand what was going on. and yeah i was around 3 1/2. then my memory goes to kindergarten and up. nothing at around age 4.

About 6 months old, in Washington State, a Chinook helicopter flew over. Remember seeing the twin rotor blades and the noise was overwhelming.

Here is one of my favorite early chlid memories: I don't remember how old I was. But I was at the park with my best friend and this boy at the top of the slide told me to come up there b/c he had a secret. My friend told me not to go up there, but I did. When I got up there he cupped his hands around my ear, like he was about to tell me a secret, but instead he gave me a kiss on the cheek. I felt so embarrassed. I really like that memory.
I do have earlier memories of when I was 3, but I really like this one, so I thought I would share it with you!

My very first memory is from when I was only a few months old. I don't know why, but I remember being in a baby tub and my mom washing my face and hands. Weird, but true.

I remember when I was 3 or 4, I would stay home and play Legos when my siblings were in Elementary School.
I also remember finding some baby chicks when they were at school, and I put a football helmet over them. :-P They escaped before I could show my brothers and sister, so they thought I was lying. Haha.

Looking out the window at night and seeing a full moon; getting so scared that I jumped into my sister's crib with her.
My sister is one year younger than I; I must have been two or three at the most.
