No. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a repetitive motion injury. The pain, numbness, weakness, and tingling associated with carpal tunnel is from pressure being put on the median nerve at the wrist. Repetitive tasks like typing can cause this over time.

There is a lot of good info on Wikipedia on the subject:

I do not think it can cause carpal tunnel syndrom but the best way to find out is go to your doctor and speak with him or her. They can tell you more and help you if you have carpal tunnel syndrom. There is new medications out now and sometimes you don't have to have surgery for carpal tunnel.
If it was a bad needle - you need to have some tests run to make sure you are okay too. The carpal tunnel may be the least of your worries. Not to scare you but in these days and times you never know.
Good Luck and Take Care!

No, carpal tunnel syndrome is degenerative, it takes time. A "misfire" during a blood sample collection can cause pain and swelling that can last for days or even weeks.

I had a vein collapse from a bad draw, and the pain was so bad I was unable to close my hand into a fist for almost 3 months after.

No, not at all. Carpal tunnel is caused by repeative motion, and a single blood draw is very unlikely to cause this.

The signs and symptoms of carpal tunnel are very specfic, and not all wrist pain is caused by carpal tunnel syndrome. You should see your doctor, who can accurately diagnosis you and initiate proper treatment.
