A newspaper on Monday described the Holocaust as a myth, accusing Israel of exaggerating the extent of the Nazi slaughter of Jews to gain Western support and contain its opponents.

``Why does Israel insist on bringing up this alleged Holocaust policy?

``I believe Israel and the Zionist organizations have two aims. The first is to receive more money from Germany and other Western establishments on the pretext of compensation for the Holocaust.

``The second aim is to invest the myth of the Holocaust and accuse anyone opposed to Zionism and its expansionist policies of anti-Semitism.''

You need to read better "newspapers" which research even a little before printing and this kind of absurdity would disappear. The Holocaust is too well documented to be discounted with any credibility. You've got a computer in front of you or you wouldn't be on line. Use it for something other than entertainment. Look up the many hundreds of thousands of articles about the Holocaust you'll find if you just try looking for them.

The MYTH of the Holocaust? What is the matter with you?

There is abundant evidence (including the eyewitness accounts of millions of survivors of WW2) that the Holocaust occurred.

If you really believe that the Holocaust is a myth, then you are the most dangerous kind of extremist.

The Holocaust is history and it is fact. Saying the opposite is the sign of a delusional personality and said individual should check themselves in for severe mental health treatment.

Yes, there a multitude of tragedies that occur around the world - Rwanda, anyone? Because other happen and have happened in history doesn't make one less valuable than the other.

If you think another tragedy is being ignored, then it's your responsibility to make people aware of it. Don't be upset at Holocaust survivors for telling their tales. Tell yours and join them in trying to prevent such tragedies from occurring again.

Calling the Holocaust a myth is only a way of trying to change historical fact. You can try to erase the wholesale murder that the Germans brought about and most nations in Europe turned a blind eye to, but there have been to many witnesses to the crime.

I don't think mass killing over 3 million people is an exaggeration and that is documented proof. Watch the movie Schindler's List which is a true movie.

I have wondered why the Polish people haven't made much to do as they lost lives, too.
Also I belive 60,000,000 we extinguished in Russia under Stalin.
I don't understand why this is a much bigger number than the aforementioned.
What was the one in China?10,000,000 (That one was only a rough, recollection.) That's because we really don't hear a peep about that one.
Heaven forbid!!! the one in Dresden! HARDLY EVER HEARD OF!!!!!

Possibly 62 million people lost their lives in World War II—about 25 million soldiers and 37 million civilians, with estimates varying widely. This total includes the estimated 12 million lives lost in the Holocaust. Of the total deaths in World War II approximately 80% were on the Allied side and 20% on the Axis side.

Allied forces suffered approximately 17 million military deaths, of which about 10 million were Soviet and 4 million Chinese. Axis forces suffered about 8 million, of which more than 5 million were German. The Soviet Union suffered by far the largest death toll of any nation in the war; perhaps 23 million Soviets died in total, of which more than 12 million were civilians. Some modern estimates double the amount of Chinese casualties. The Holocaust was the organized murder of at least nine million people, about two-thirds of whom were Jewish. Originally, the Nazis used killing squads, Einsatzgruppen, to conduct massive open-air killings, shooting as many as 33,000 people in a single massacre, as in the case of Babi Yar. By 1942, the Nazi leadership decided to implement the Final Solution, the genocide of all Jews in Europe, and increase the pace of the Holocaust. The Nazis built six extermination camps specifically to kill Jews. Millions of Jews who had been confined to massively overcrowded Ghettos were transported to these "Death-camps" where they were gassed or shot, usually immediately after arriving. In addition to the Nazi concentration camps, the Soviet Gulag, or labor camps, led to the death of citizens of occupied countries such as Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, as well as German prisoners of war and even Soviet citizens themselves: supporters of the Nazis. Japanese POW camps also had high death rates; many were used as labour camps, and starvation conditions among the mainly U.S., British, Australian and other Commonwealth prisoners were little better than many German concentration camps. Sixty percent of Soviet POWs died during the war. Vadim Erlikman puts it at 2.6 million Soviet POWs that died in German Captivity. Richard Overy gives the number of 5.7 million Soviet POW and out of those 57% died or were killed.

Furthermore, hundreds of thousands of Japanese North Americans were interned by the U.S. and Canadian governments. Many of the inmates of these camps were subjected to physical and verbal abuse due to their ethnic Asian similarities.

How could anyone possibly EXAGERATE something so horrifying as World War Two and the Holocaust. Dispicable.

I find it sad that there are still people out there who, because of their own personal agendas, can't admit that the Nazis did commit mass atrocities, especially against the Jews.
