I'm with you on that! I think those damn plastic covers look horrible.. such crap. It seems that car makers think that people who dont know about engines will think the smooth plastic cover looks better than the engine itself.. but in reality those types of people probably wont even look at the engine. I think part of the reason for the change over is that so many car makers have switched over to those ugly as hell black plastic intake manifolds. Trust me.. it isnt just the general making things difficult for us. I just replaced the alternator on a Nissan and I had to take the damn radiator and passenger side fender off just to reach the bolts for the alternator. Talk about a knuckle buster..
