My husband and i have three kids. a boy who is 11. he is my bio son, a girl who is my husbands bio daughter 6. and a little baby who is our bio child. We live for our family and we are very much in love with each other. It is very clear to us though that the ex has been giving our little girl the poisonous dart treatment. talking badly about us and emotionally blackmailing her daughter. Constance loves her dad but every time we see constance there is a new side we see from her. We have discussed taking her to a child phycologist just to help her form her own opinions and give her an outlet to air her confusions, etc. We dont say anything bad about her mother to her ever. What can we do in this situation ?

Do? You love each other, love the kids, and try to ignore the EX's silliness. Wrong? Yup But, that IS the crap you have to deal with when Ex's are concerned. Obviously, she has unresolved issues. Her problem. You show class by not playing the Ex's game of cutting the Ex down. You will survive, the children will grow up. When they do, they'll remember that Dad and you were the better persons, and that their Mom wasn't. Actually, THAT is payback enough. Until that happens, love each other, love the kids, and enjoy the life you have together. And yes, it's ok to dream of kicking that blitch's butt. LOL

been there and it is no fun you need to get the child into therapy now please be careful about what you say about the ex. you may think you don't talk about her but maybe you do without realizing it. after all you just called her the ex wife from hell. all you can do is love Constance and reassure her that you will always love her. maybe the problems are not because of the ex wife maybe she is just having trouble with the divorce. all you can do is get the therapy and be there to support her. never ask questions about her mom she is not her mom's keeper so if you want to know something ask the mom please do not put the child in the middle my exhusband did that and it was a horrible mistake

i have under no circumstances been with the aid of a few thing like that and that i desire I under no circumstances do. it is appalling to apply a baby as a weapon in a messy divorce etc, yet particularly this newborn is only a baby, she likely needs some counselling after the chop up and is tousled in her head it is why she is behaving in the variety of rude way, telling huge lies like that ought to correctly be a demonstration of interest looking for. it must be a shame to scale back his daughter from his existence, she continues to be his daughter and that is going to damage her so a lot extra, and reason extra emotional damage to her if he says he needs no longer some thing extra to do jointly with her. He should be there even extra for her and get her some help to variety her head out, if she will be in a position to no longer then say to her that if she would not opt to go back and stay there then it is her selection, yet his door is continually open for her at the same time as she feels waiting to apologise for her undesirable behaviour.

well don't hesitate, because if you put it off you could end up like me, i had 3 kids and my ex is HELL, she has put me down to anyone who would listen, now i use to have joint custody, but once a child reaches a certain age, 12 is golden here in Canada, so from that point on my kids stopped seeing me, with every excuse there was.
I had believed them, why wouldn't i right, my oldest finally at 16 left her mom's roost, and began to lay out the unfortunate events that led to not having any of my 3 kids have any social contact with me.
so if the child begins to act differently, i would whole heatedly recommend a trip to a doctor to assess the mental and social aspect of the child.
the other thing is joint custody had better be in place because she will fight tooth and nail to stop it.
i only wish i would have seen the signs before it is too late

Family counseling may be the way to go. It is a shame that a mother would do that to her child but you are smart in not saying a word about her mother. When this little girl grows up she well respect you and your husband and know her mother wasn't too smart. Good luck.

The psychologist is a good idea. You are wise not to stoop to the ex's level with bad retorts about her. Try and remain close to her with understanding and support. Do all you can to gain her confidence so that she will open up and tell you whats on her mind. Continue to give her plenty of love as I' sure you have and don't give up.
