How can we compete when it costs us more to run our machines then it would to hire a couple of dozen six year olds.

The reforms instituted in the sweatshops and the manufacturing plants of North America made it impossible to keep using children as cheap labour. We have no idea,by the way, how to run a factory like they do in Southern China. Everyone lives on site including the managers. The wages are low but so are the living expenses. The management team even socialises together.
I say we let the six year olds play though.

You know a lot of those childern have nothing better to do, what education they don't get silly, so instead of them making babies at a very early age and drink and get into other truble why don,t we let them work. A lot of poeple are really not that bright if they think those child workers have lots of choices they don't so lets at least giving desint meals and clothes and a meaning in there very short lives ( most of them only live to be mid 20 and early 30's)

We compete because we outsource work to countries that have sweatshops, bringing otherwise absent capital into that economy which eventually uses it to buy American goods - providing more widespread introduction of amercan goods worldwide... creating higher demand.

Lets repeal the child labor laws and food inspection laws and drug purity laws and banking regulations and quit paving our roads, wow, we can be just like India. Great idea.

You are a freaking moron. We have one of the best economies in the world! But if you want to kill little kids in sweatshops and screw up the economy, go to a different country!

If they would hire our children,
the birth rate would soar,
food could be produced through cheap labour.
Our country would become strong.
Go Canaduh!

We are less competitive because we are lazy and pampered.
