For me the best music was the 70s & 80s. They just dont music like that any more and thats a shame.

I like a lot of different periods and phases...first off, the original rock'n'roll/R&B from the mid-50s to mid-60s...perhaps my favorite style is doo-wop, which all but died by the mid-60s...while I love most 60s classic rock, both the 70s and 80s were weaker to me, except for the original punk/new wave days, which started around '75...Ramones still rule...

60s, 70s (except the "disco" era from my personal point of view) & 80s were very rich periods in popular music, in particular the 60s decade is the richest for the diversity of sounds, styles, talented bands, singers and songwriters, a proof of it is that some of them are still active and they are even able to make the charts.

The 70's had the greatest rock bands. Led Zepplin, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, and on and on.
80's Had the best metal bands. Poison, Motley Crue, Skid Row and on and on. :P

80's is my fav year for music, but I admit I do like to dance around the flat to cheese music, dancing stupid and singing too loud always cheers me up.
