in ultimate ninja.. you have to time it right by pressing R2 or L2 right as you are getting hit and you will use a substitution jutsu.. or you can easily get that substitution jutsu scroll (but it doesnt work for missions where you have to use a substitution jutsu.. you have to tap away at R2

You Press The Guard Button The Second you get hit by your opponent. Countering an Additional Blow you would press circle
