Can anyone give me an overview or report on the book? I had two book reports I had to do over the summer for a class. I read "The Great Gatsby" first, which took a really long time and now I have to read this book. I have most of it done, but I have a hundred pages left and a whole report to do and school starts in two days. I really don't know what to do! I've worked hard, but now I can't finish it.

If you're talking about the Gregory Macguire book on which the play is based, you're missing a good read. Unfortunately, I read it about five years ago, so I forget many details. Overall, Elphaba was unfortunately born with green skin, much to her parents' dismay. There's something about a dragon, but I can't remember that....Her sister (Nessarose?) doesn't have any arms, and Elphaba takes care of her. They go away to school, together. Elphaba is an excellent student, and befriends a professor who guides her to become a champion for the rights of animals who can think, including those who have lost the power of speech. The wizard has led the people of Oz to put these animals in a second class, based on the lack of sufficient food supply. Elphaba becomes friends with Glinda the Good. (Now I might be getting the rest mixed up with the play...) They both fall for the same guy, Fiyero. Elphaba discovers she has magical powers, and is tricked by the wizard into creating the flying monkeys. As she will not join him, he begins a campaign to villify her, and the people buy it, knowing she is different and magically gifted.

It completely replaced my view of Elphaba. you need to rather see the play, it rather is in simple terms as stunning by using fact the e book. i examine "confessions of an unsightly stepsister" which i enjoyed, i think of you will like it too. Maguire is an excellent author.
