I was called by my doctors nurse she asked me to come in the next day to be seen. The next day I went in to the office and the girl at the front desk refused to let me see the doctor. I didn't have an extra $120 to be seen but the thing is I just gave her a check for $500 for surgury. The first time I went in before this I was given an opion to pay up front(which I payed) so why is it different this time? She then went on to tell me (very loudly so other patients could here every word )
" theres nothing the doctor can do for you" there was more said than that but I'm not going to get into that.
Have my patients rights been violated? Should I speak to the doc about this? I have surgury with this same doc next week and I'm nervous to do it now!

You need to REMIND HER OF THE HIPAA ACT. She is suppose to keep your information private either eletroically or spoken or written etc. I'm in medical field I know this VERY WELL.

Defiantly put in a formal complaint. I'm not sure if it is illegal, but is unethical and the employee has broken patient confidentiality so you must report her to her seniors

i would at least put in a complaint because there was no reason for her to be rude like that. Each patient's bussiness is supposed to be kept private, so she should not have yelled out your bussiness like that.
